computeruniverse GmbH Privacy policy(siehe auch Öffentliches Verfahrensverzeichnis)Our data protection principles computeruniverse takes the protection of your personal data very seriously. We want you to know which data we store, when and how we use it. We have taken technical and organizational measures to ensure that we and our service providers comply with the data protection regulations. Further development of our website and the implementation of new technology to improve our services may result in changes to this privacy policy. We therefore recommend that you reread this privacy policy at regular intervals. 1. What is personal data? Personal data is information which can be used to find out details about your personal or financial situation. Information which cannot (unless a disproportionate effort is made) be used to establish a link to you, e.g. by the use of pseudonyms or by making information anonymous, is not regarded as personal data. 2. Which data do we store and use? You can use some of our online services without giving any information about your identity. However if you want to join our community, our forums or our bonus and affiliate programs, if you want to use particular personal services such as wish list, checklist or info agent or if you want to place an order, we will ask you for your name and other personal information. This may also apply if you want to participate in one of our competitions and your data is needed to inform you if you have won or to ensure that you get your prize. You can decide yourself whether or not to provide this data. However, without it, we cannot offer you the service you require or the service may be available only to a limited extent.
3. Does computeruniverse use cookies? computeruniverse uses three different kinds of “cookies” (small files with information about your configuration). The first type is used to maintain your session if you change pages, the second to protect the integrity of your session and the third to recognize you in the case of revisits. The first two types are not stored and expire after a maximum time of 15 minutes or if you close your browser. The third type is valid for a period of 2 years and is renewed upon each visit. In some cases selected partners may set anonymous cookies which do however not make it possible to identify the individual user. You can also use our services without cookies. Most browsers are configured in such a way that they accept cookies automatically. However, you can deactivate the acceptance of cookies or configure your browser in such a way that you are advised before cookies are stored. We want to point out that you will not be able to use all our website functions if you decline function-related cookies. 4. What does computeruniverse do with your data? We store and use your personal data including your residential address and your e-mail address exclusively for handling your orders and for return deliveries. Your IP address will be stored in the course of an order only in case of a legitimate interest. Your e-mail address is only used for correspondence regarding your orders and – if you do not object – for our customer relationship management and to send you our newsletters if you wish. Information is retrieved and used pseudonymously to manage and optimize product offers and sales promotions on our website. However, we reserve the right to carry out statistical evaluations of pseudonymous and anonymous data records. IP-logs for example are stored for system security reasons (to prevent misuse), to improve our website and for statistical purposes (number of users and number of pages visited).
5. Do we pass on your data to third parties? To comply with legal requirements, we are obliged in certain cases to forward your personal data to third parties. This is the case, for example, if there is suspicion of a criminal offense or misuse of our website. In this case we are obliged to forward your data to the law enforcement agency. Otherwise your data is stored solely in our database and on our servers. This does not apply to our service partners who require data for order handling such as Deutsche Post (German Mail), UPS, our banks or SCHUFA Holding AG, Kormoranweg 5, 65201 Wiesbaden (German credit reference agency) for example in the case of direct debits or hire purchase. In these cases personal data is transferred in compliance with the statutory regulations of the Bundesdatenschutzgesetz (BDSG, Federal Data Protection Act). The amount of data transferred is limited to the minimum required.6. Protection of minors Persons under the age of 18 years should not transfer any personal data to us without the consent of their parents or guardian. Only a few persons who are responsible for the technical, commercial or editorial administration are authorized to access these servers. To avoid any loss or misuse of data stored at computeruniverse, we take extensive technical and internal security precautions which are reviewed on a regular basis and updated in line with technical progress. However we wish to point out that the rules of data protection and the above mentioned security measures may be violated by persons or institutions beyond the scope of our responsibility due to the structure of the internet. In particular data which is sent unencrypted including via e-mail – can be read by third parties. We do not have any technical influence on such actions. The user himself is responsible for protecting any data provided against misuse by means of encryption or any other method. Our online sevice contains links to other websites. We'd like to point out that you can revoke your consent at any time, effective immediately and for the future.
